  2. Your oldest younger brother, George Says:

I’m sorry to start this way, but I could bite a nail into because I spent a good deal of time pouring my heart into a message for you and sent it yesterday, only to have it do the stupid computer/Internet thing and go into “never never land”! Can’t believe I didn’t save it—I actually had it, then deleted it after I seemed to successfully sent it.

60? 60! Oh my! Every time you cross one of these milestones, I’m bumping into it right behind you! Oh well…it was 20 more years before Moses even started his 40 year career! Looking at Israel, the Rapture will be here before another 20 years!

Ruth, I can see you tearing up over the incredible messages from other people. They are amazing and touching.

Beginning more recently, our church was so happy to pray with you for your miracle—to recover, pass the physical, and go back to work. We are all thrilled that you have, and are enjoying interesting places in the world again—even more places than ever before.

Back a little further, when we were living very stressfully in Bluffton, you and Joe were virtually the only ones to visit us, and we have such great memories of being there together with you. Was that when we began “shutting down German restaurants”? Just kidding—seemed like when we went to one, we’d find out that they were closing soon afterwards.

Not only Alana (now 9), but also Daniel, David, and Joy (who are in their 30’s) all learned great appreciation of nature from you in ways they experienced with no other person. They all loved to see you come, and appreciated so much you love for all the things in nature, and how you instilled in them a desire for these things. If a food crisis were to happen (it looks more possible than ever before), everyone who knows you would want you close by.

Love you, Ruth! Hope you’re having the happiest one so far (believing the best is yet to come).
    George

    Dear Ruth!

We wish you a happy birthday and all the best for the year to come! We hope you a very well and healthy – are you flying again?

We are very sorry about the long “Sommerloch”. We had a wonderful, but busy summer that was flying like nothing. First we spent our family vacation (10 days) in Charleston (sightseeing for the parents) and Hilton Head (beach for the kids). Than, Annika and Julian were little half day summer campers and after that our sisters and their families (from Switzerland) visited us for four weeks in total. Now, we are back to the school schedule, which is a bit busier this year as Annika attends German Language School on Saturday mornings.
As the weather is a little cooler now, we would like to revitalize the nature hiking program. What time would be convenient for you on Saturday or Sunday afternoons? We are quite flexible the upcoming weekends.

We wish you a very happy birthday once again and hope you had a nice party today.

    Lots of greetings from

Astrid, Mirko, Annika, Julian, and Tobias

    Hi!

Joe had mentioned that today was your birthday. So I came up with a poem for you. Notice, I didn’t say it was a good poem, just a poem. So sit down and hold onto something or someone.

At last you made it to the great age of sixty.
Now you’ll see that life will be oh so nifty.

You’ll go into stores and your I.D. you will flash,
and lo and behold, they’ll give you discounts and cash.

You’ll go to movies and dinners and parties before six.
The senior savings will mount, girl it will give you such kicks!

You’ll marvel at the attitudes, you’ll marvel at the joys,
of all the “stuff” you can get, and all the marvelous toys.

Enjoy it all while you may. Enjoy it all before the pain.
Before you have to massage your knees, and walk with a bamboo cane..

But don’t be depressed. Don’t be dismayed. Life isn’t all that bleak.
Even though you’ve tripped and fallen, you’ll be up and about in a week.

Have a fantastic birthday, and enjoy a glass of wine.

    Cheers, Norman
